Message from the Hon. Susil Premajayantha, MP, Minister of Education
It's a great pleasure for me to send this message for the first Diploma Degree award ceremony of South Asian Academy for Good Governance scheduled for April 2008. I believe that considerable service can be rendered to Sri Lanka as well as to other countries in South Asia awarding Certificate, Diplomas, Degrees, Doctorates and other academic titles to suitable people based on their merits, experience, education, studies and research activities.
It is a success of the new academy that the ceremony has been scheduled to co-inside with the 8th session of the Peoples Assembly of Sri Lanka and the world President of the International Council on Social Welfare will participate in the event. I express my great happiness on conducting this event focusing international attention on the historic city of Anuradhapura.
Good Governance has become a subject for discussion presently both at national and international levels. It's very timely that this institution has given first priority to this issue. I hope that people belonging to different sectors, such as; religious dignitaries, leaders of political parties, trade union activists, business leaders and civil society activists will be benefitted through this programme.
I take this opportunity to extend my whole hearted blessings and best wishes for this programme.
